Amplifying LED with Certified Organic Skincare

LED is fast becoming the preferred, non-invasive professional skin treatment to have with every facial.

So, what is LED Therapy?

LED - Light Emitting Diode therapy is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses multiple wavelengths of light to stimulate, heal, regenerate, and protect tissue, restore cellular energy and accelerate cell repair (1). Our skin uses light as a source of energy to repair and rejuvenate damaged cells. The energy stimulates the fibroblasts (collagen and elastin) production, boosts circulation and accelerates tissue repair.

During your treatment, you lie underneath a light screen while the device does the work. It can be a stand-alone treatment or an additional add-on to any facial to improve collagen and elastin production. In addition, LED increases the permeability of the cell membrane to allow deeper penetration of the active ingredients and nutrients found in topical skincare products.

Clean, Certified Organic products containing potent vitamins and antioxidants will help achieve better subcutaneous delivery when used with LED.

These pure formulas help repair the natural barrier and regeneration from within, and that’s why many beauty therapists combine organicspa’s nutrient-rich formulas with light therapy. They have seen this combination deliver their clients the safest and most effective skin rejuvenation treatment.

Originally developed by NASA, it was used in plant growth experiments and later was found to help speed up tissue healing and repair as LED light therapy heals ATP (adenosine triphosphate). Different wavelengths of light in LED lights, including blue and red, penetrate the skin at different depths. This penetration may trigger biological processes that help the skin rejuvenate and heal.

BLUE LIGHT 415 nm – reduces active sebaceous glands.

RED LIGHT 633 nm – improves scarring, wrinkles and overall texture by stimulating the fibroblasts responsible for collagen production.

INFRARED LIGHT 830 nm - increases blood and lymphatic flow and wound healing while reducing pain and inflammation of the muscle and joints as well as providing skin rejuvenation (2).

Is it safe, and who is it for?

LED light therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free treatment for multiple skin concerns and conditions. You can have this treatment at a spa, salon or dermatologist. It’s safe and helps promote both skin and client relaxation. I believe this alone is reason enough to move away from invasive, stress-causing treatments and toward LED light therapy combined with Certified Organic skincare products.

Leading industry guru and trainer Danielle Hughes agrees and is spruiking the less is more philosophy.

“What you may not know is that corticotropin - a releasing hormone - is also released by epidermal cells. This discovery has established that the skin is a fully functioning peripheral HPA system and a major site of stress and nervous responses. This fact alone emphasises how important our role as skin professionals is in caring for the skin as an organ and minimising stimuli that can activate the skin and brain stress response.

There is a physical reason why a skin treatment should be a relaxing experience. It will have a positive effect on the health of the skin by, in the first case, not stimulating stress hormones”.

With the overuse of invasive treatments and skincare, we have seen a significant rise in skin atrophy and irritation. We discuss this in a separate blog, How can Skinimalism transform your skin? Here, we dive deeper into this and share expert opinions on why a minimalist approach to our skincare is best.

Other industry professionals who have seen the light!

Karen Thomas of Skin Body Soul

“I've been working with organicspa since 2014. Since the first day, I've seen results in my skin and, most importantly, my clients. Clean products, with every ingredient serving a skin purpose, lead to better skin health. Like any skin-loving therapist, I’m always looking for ways to holistically improve my clients’ skin while using non-invasive technology.

LED Phototherapy has completely changed my treatment room. I have seen incredible results. I wish I had introduced it long before I did!

The already potent organicspa products and treatments are taken to the next level with LED since it works to charge your skin cells, so they are plump, juicy and ready to receive the ingredients you are delivering with your skincare. This approach allows your skin to benefit instantly”.

What does LED target?

LED helps with hydration, acne and breakouts, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, redness and inflammation, to name a few. It can also increase serotonin levels (known as the happy hormone) which helps stress levels, tension and headaches.

organicspa skincare and LED are the perfect pair for healthy skin.

Our range of treatments and salon products work to specifically target your clients' skin aspirations, so your therapist will be able to tell you which treatment will work best with LED, considering the results you're after. For instance, an AHA rejuvenate peel prior to LED will maximise the results. After an LED treatment, our biohydra infusion mask will provide your skin with ultra-intense hydration and will help increase the amount of collagen in the skin.
